It’s getting hotter in Finland!

EMMA tour visited the eastern parts of Finland on July 19th as it was time for the annual Motopark Festival. During the party-filled weekend the weather was again as good as it gets. A couple of times there have been thunderstorms during the competition day at Motopark but this year we were spared. Only the SQ judges had to suffer saunalike heat in the competition cars. In the afterparty the main event was none other but Captain Jack!

Despite several expected cars not showing up the competition was nice. There were some of our Russian friends joining in and Kössi’s “SaxoBeat” and Lipi’s “Bon Jovi Golf” had their debuts. This was the first competition of the season for eight competitors. The tightest competition was between the Russians in SQ Advanced Unlimited as they finished within one point of each other. In SQ Master 4000€ the competition is getting closer as both Finnish Eurofinalists were present. This time the longer straw went again to Antero Kölli, with the day’s highest SQ score, 270 points. As we were on a race trak the day was filled with fast cars, loud cars and beautiful cars. The loudness of the ESPL cars was this time measured with the new Finnish 4SPL meter. This might be the future reference system in EMMA Finland competitions as it’s small and light and most of all easy to use.

The next event is already next weekend at Kouvola Night Cruising. There’s supposed to be more than 20 EMMA cars this time, including the anticipated Dragster Vimo Fiat 600. Hope to see you all there!
