The Finals are getting closer in Finland

Since the last update there has happened a lot in Finland.

On August 2nd EMMA Finland was a part of a charity event called Kouvola Night Cruising. There were 23 EMMA cars within the over 200 cars present. The most anticipated car this year had it’s debut. The Dragster Fiat Vimo did a “Full Pull” and took part in all five available EMMA competition formats (SQ Expert Unlimited, Multimedia Expert, ESPL Expert, Racing Master and ESQL Master, resulting in three first places and two second places). Another debutant to mention was Harri Aulaskari’s unbelievable Mistubishi Galant. The days highest SQ score went to Miika Kuronen in Master 4000 (271) as he beat his nemesis Antero Kölli by 10 points! As this was the last sound off for both of them before the finals it’s going to be a very interesting final. Victories are 1 – 1 between them two. The days highest ESPL score was recorded by a first timer who just wanted to test what EMMA ESPL is about. Juho Jyrkkä did a 148,9 dB with closed doors and 148,3 dB open in ESPL Master Wall Unlimited.

A week after that EMMA Finland had a sound off in Power Truck Show. The largest truck show in northern Europe. That was also the biggest sound off EMMA Finland had all season with 34 cars joining in. There were a lot of new cars having their debuts. A couple worth to mention were Jarkko Saukonoja’s MB ML with the first Bewith system in Finland and his Peugeot W2C which reminded us why it’s an Expert car. A whopping 281 in SQ with full points in installation. Another debutant was Jani Mattila’s Nissan Pulsar that got 252 in SQ with only three speakers in the car! The highest SPL was measured from Toni Rutanen’s Golf in ESPL Master Wall Unlimited, scoring 150,1 dB doors closed and 154,7 dB doors open.

Next week it was time to invade Sweden. On August 16th and 17th there was the Vallåkraträffen in southern Sweden and there were four cars from Finland present. The Swedish tried to freeze us on the windy airfield but anyway on Saturday’s competition Jarkko Saukonoja won his classes with both of his cars. The Bewith MB in Master Unlimited and the W2C in Expert Limited. Swedish Peter Wilhelm beat both of his Finnish opponents in Master 4000 as Antero Kölli was second and Vesa Koskinen third. On Sunday Team Finland cleared the table with three victories and one second place. That’s what you get for adding rain to the freezing wind.
