AI-SONIC S2-Series amplifiers

The design work for the AI-Sonic S2 amplifiers started in 2017. The ambitious goal was to design an amplifier range that offers the best possible sound quality in its price range. The work started by designing a unique cooling profile, i.e., the aluminum frame of the amplifier. As a result of Finnish design work, a profile was completed that met three desired requirements:

1. The most delicate shape possible to make the device compact. 
2. Installation of transistors upright along the profile to enhance cooling 
3. Simple stylish appearance

AI-sonic S2 profile:

Maximizing cooling and minimizing the physical size of the amplifier continued with circuit board design. The locations of the components on the circuit board are carefully selected to achieve the smallest possible physical size of the amplifier and efficient component cooling. Twice as much copper has been used on the circuit board compared to a standard car amplifier circuit board. This will bring the following benefits:

Less resistance, less heat. Better power flow helps amplifier perform better even in harsher use. Better low frequency playback thanks to better power flow in the internal components of the amplifier. The most expensive part may not always be the best. And parts at the same price are not all the same. The compatibility of the components used is crucial, in terms of the quality of the end result. Three years have been spent selecting and testing the components of the AI-Sonic S2 amplifiers.  By testing numerous different parts and combinations of parts, we have found the parts that make up the best possible product in their price range. The component selection work was carried out in collaboration between AI-Group and British amplifier designers with decades of experience.

In addition to sound quality, the reliability of the amplifier is essential in a quality amplifier. If even one component has to work to its limits, it jeopardizes a good outcome. All parts of the AI-Sonic amplifiers are slightly oversized in relation to the power of the amplifier. Double power supplies are used in larger models. Smaller models ended up using a single power supply of sufficient size to keep the price within the desired limits.

The frequency range and slope of the crossovers are such that each amplifier with 2- and 4-channels can be used in any frequency range using the amplifier’s own high, low- and band-pass crossovers. 12dB/oct for the high frequency ranges for all models in the full range.
and 12/24 dB/oct for mono amplifier. 

The modern high-input, or speaker-level input, knows how to fool the car’s original player and does not cause any problems when connecting the car to the original player. The cable-tightening bolt of the cable terminals is squeezing the cable very tight. The tilted bolt angle also makes it easier to install the appliance. The tool does not hit the body of the amplifier because it turns away from the device when tightening the bolt. The level remote control, which is optional for amplifiers, is not just a bass knob with certain frequencies. The level control also works in full range amplifiers because it genuinely adjusts the level of the signal coming out. The level control also has power, clip and malfunction indicators.  Each amplifier is still underrated so in reality you get a lot more pure power than stated.
