Each year Smart fans meet together in one European town for the largest and smartest Smart only car event. This years “smart times 2015” took place in Budapest (Hungary) and more than 2000 registrations were counted. The Smarts came from different countries, we saw cars from Portugal, Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, Greece, Poland and many more – all in all to much to state each country.
EMMA Austria supported with judges and back office for the smart times contests. The Smarts were judged in 4 different categories mostly comparable to ESPL and EMMA Racing categories.
Additionally a new contest “Beat the JBL Smart” was introduced in Budapest. The challenge was to beat the SPL measurement of the JBL Show Smart. The measurements took place during the evening program on the main stage. The JBL Smart started with a sound pressure value of 134,1 dB (Track 26 from the EMMA CD: Buzz of the monkeys). Afterwards the three contestants – all from Greece – entered the stage with their smarts and finally George – The Silent – Stathopoulos came up with 140,7 dB and won that contest.
The official evening ended with the price giving ceremony and a nice party afterwards.
For EMMA Austria smart times 2015 was not only the chance to demonstrate the professional level of event execution – it was also a great possibility to show up the idea of EMMA to new contestants on international level.
