A fine day in western Finland

Last weekend there was the 3rd sound off of the season in Vaasa. The event was organized by EMMA Finland’s sponsor Vaasan Ykkösradio at the parking lot of a shopping center.

The weather was the best Finland’s summer can offer. Unless you’re an SQ judge. The sun was shining through the whole day without a cloud in sight and the temperature was about +25C in shadow so in the cars that were left in the sun the temperature was like in a sauna.

This was the season’s first competition for some of the “old” competitors and there were also a few first timers participating. The day’s highest SQ score went to the Eurofinalist Antero Kölli in Master 4000 and the higest ESPL score to Roope Kalmu and his VW Golf in Master Wall Unlimited. This was the first time the measurement was done with a TermLab system and as always the measurement pulled a crowd to the event area. Also there was a new competitor in ESQL who totally surprised the judges with a nice and clear sounding car. Seems that ESQL is getting more interesting during the season.
